Movie hunter x hunter Phantom Rouge

Film ini berlatar setelah pertarungan Kurapika dan Genei Ryodan berakhir dan sebelum Gon dan Killua mengikuti game Greed Island.

Cerita diawali dengan scene yang suram dimana Killua yang terbayang oleh kakaknya yang menasihatinya tentang menghindari persahabatan. Menurut Illumi, Killua tidak akan bisa untuk menjalin persahabatan dengan orang-orang disekitarnya, karena dia (Killua) akan mengkhianatinya atau malah orang itu yang akan mengkhinati dia.

Dilanjutkan dengan kisah Kurapika yang kehilangan mata merahnya ketika bertemu dengan sahabat masa kecilnya yang bernama Pyro, Kurapika yang sudah terlanjur senang saat mengetahui teman dari satu klan nya yang masih hidup tanpa dia duga, harus mendapatkan luka perasaan yang amat dalam ketika temannya tersebut malah mencuri mata Kurapika yang sejatinya adalah pemilik mata merah terakhir. 

Gon dan Killua yang mengetahui hal tersebut tidak bisa tinggal diam setelah mendengar cerita Kurapika. Dengan mata Kurapika yang menempel di kepala Pyro, Kurapika bisa melihat dimana keberadaan Pyro.

Dengan strategi yang matang, Gon dan Killua berangkat menujut tempat dimana mata merah milik Kurapika berada.

Sebenarnya hal yang menarik dari awal di film HxH ini adalah kemunculan mantan anggota Genei Ryodan bernomor 4 yang bernama Omokage. Diketahui dari filmnya, Omokage keluar dari Ryodan karena dia telah berhasil membuat replika semua tubuh serta jurus anggota Ryodan dalam sebuah boneka.
